I’ve been waiting to flip the switch for a while now. After following many card blogs such as SportsCardsUncensored and Wax Heaven, I’ve been thinking about what I can contribute to the trading card community. A lot of things have happened in the industry in the past week. Reading what bloggers are writing has piqued my interest.
But the main thing that has me interested is how the web is affecting the hobby. The main purpose of this blog is to not report on box breaks, or give my opinion on news items such as MLB suing Donruss. But I am interested in things like the new social network being created over at CardboardConnection.com. Or how virtually no progress has been made with how the web is being used to facilitate how we collect cards. Or how so many projects get started and never go anywhere.
Personally, I think the web and technology in general can help the hobby. I believe it can make collecting cards even more fun. Besides talking about cool things that are happening on the web, I have a few ideas up my sleeve that will contribute. Ideally, I want this to be an open forum where others can give ideas and opinions on web apps, blogs, or whatever else.
Share your ideas on topics that I should blog about or your opinions on cards and the web in general.
Hey Josh,
It is interesting that you have written this post and are starting this blog. My husband and I share many of your thoughts and took action and starting building our site http://www.zistle.com. We have just started opening it up and I would be interested to hear what you think. I am excited to read more about your thoughts on how web technologies can influence the hobby. Cheers!
Good to hear about your site Ashley. I will definitely take a look and let you know what I think. First impressions are good!
